The Mahlkönig E64 WS is equipped with 64 mm flat steel burrs that produce uniform coffee particles, ensuring balanced flavor extraction and consistent espresso quality. Its powerful motor spins the burrs at around 1950 RPM, enabling a grinding speed of approximately 2–3.5 grams per second while maintaining quiet operation suitable for home environments.

One of its most innovative features is Grind-by-Weight technology, which uses a built-in digital scale capable of measuring doses with 0.1-gram accuracy. This ensures precise and repeatable dosing directly into the portafilter, helping users achieve consistent espresso shots while reducing waste.

The grinder also integrates Grind-by-Sync connectivity, allowing it to communicate with compatible espresso machines and automatically adjust grind settings based on extraction feedback. This intelligent system helps maintain optimal brewing parameters and simplifies the dialing-in process. 

For precise control, the E64 WS features electronic grind adjustment with Disc Distance Detection (DDD), enabling micrometer-level control of burr distance. This allows users to make extremely accurate and repeatable grind adjustments for different beans or brewing styles.
